Challenge

After 10 years of success in the US, VidCon continued its global expansion, with its debut in Asia. VidCon Asia needed Bud’s assistance to market the event to industry professionals and generate early demand for VidCon 2020. Bud was tasked to start a buzz around the upcoming conference, invite reporters, and manage media throughout the event by coordinating interviews and other requests.

Approach

Pre-event, Bud created a content strategy that would fuel a weekly EDM campaign, driving ticket sales, as well as create compelling thought leadership pieces that would generate interest from industry professionals.

As part of an integrated PR strategy, Bud drafted and distributed the conference press releases, and compiled press packs to share with relevant media.

As the key point of contact for all attending media before and during the event, Bud ensured smooth coordination of interviews, fielding inbound requests and liaising with journalists.

Impact

VidCon saw over 650 delegates from 20 countries and 200 companies that participated in the inaugural VidCon Asia Summit.

Bud successfully secured media attendance across print and digital channels including The Drum, Campaign, Variety, Mumbrella, and Hollywood Reporter.

There were VidCon Asia achieved over 30 pieces of pre- and post-event coverage in over 20 publications from all over the world in less than a month.
